Washington Lottery revenue that now goes into the state's general fund would instead be reserved for school construction, according to a House Republican proposal to be spotlighted today by Co-Speaker Clyde Ballard, R-East Wenatchee.

The bill, HB 1856, is a Republican counter-proposal to one of the recommendations made by the bipartisan School Construction Task force, which called for the use of emergency reserve funds to finance school construction.
