Cummins-Powered Catamaran Operating Off Kauai.

Powered by a pair of Cummins N14 marine diesel engines, each rated 525 hp at 2100 rpm, a new catamaran has begun operating along the coast of Port Allen on the island of Kauai, Hawaii.

"We've been running catamarans for nearly 20 years," said Andy Evans, who operates tour and dive boats in Hawaii, "For us, they are the vessel of choice -- first for their sea-keeping abilities and second for the great deck area."
