BOOBY nymphs proved again during the Daily Record/Tennents Champion of Champions that they can be hot stuff when the weather is warm.

Ayr angler Tom Wilson, of Troon Angling Club, used the booby to great effect to secure a place in the final of the Champions.

His seven plump Lake of Menteith rainbows weighing 16lb 4oz were not only the heaviest catch of the night, but were instrumental in getting Tom's club into the second semi-final of the Scottish Club Championships.
