IT'S exciting seeing a big trout up on the surface creating a bow wave as it follows your flies, toying with the line playfully.

When fish are in that sort of mood it can be quite frustrating, because as often as not it has no intention of taking. So what do you do?

Some anglers strip in quicker, hoping that the speeding up of the fly will excite the fish and induce it to take. Others just stop pulling in all altogether.
