The Newport girls' basketball players formed a circle and did a victory dance after beating Hancock County, 42-40, in the first round of the Kentucky All ''A'' Classic on Wednesday at Eastern Kentucky University.

The Wildcats had a good reason to celebrate. The last time Newport won a state tournament game was 1975.

But Newport coach Aric Russell wasn't too thrilled his team let an 11-point lead slip away during the final minutes.
