When the mayor of Princeville, N.C., heard the news late Tuesday, she whooped so loud she shook the trailer temporarily housing Town Hall.
Someone from Congresswoman Eva Clayton's office had called. The president, she said, was going to help bring back their historic town.
``I've been ecstatic ever since,'' Mayor Delia Perkins said. ``As bright as the sun has been today, this news was that bright.''
