The Shock in Israel

"IS IT the fire next time?" a friend from abroad asked anxiously as the December disturbances in Gaza, the West Bank and some Israeli Arab communities continued in January. The answer is, No. But the embers are sizzling pretty close to the surface. Unless something is done soon to defuse the political situation in the occupied territories, a fire threatening the very existence of the Jewish State could break out a few short years down the road.
