The output of ethylene in SINOPEC was 2 696 kt in 1999, a rise of 428.4 kt and 18.89% over the previous year, hitting the historical record. The output was 102.7% of the capacity (2 625 kt/a) and accounted for 62% of the national total output (4 351 kt). (1) The ethylene unit in Yanshan Petrochemical Corporation made no overhaul in 1999 and conducted full-load production all the year round. The unit ran smoothly without any unplanned shutdowns.
