Crop Crack: Opportunity to catch up.(News)

THE warm, dry weather during last weekend accelerated crop growth and provided good opportunities to catch up with spring barley and potato spraying. Spring barley crops are now growing well but with the mixed warm and showery weather Rhynchosporium has become more widespread.

Potato crops are now mostly emerged, but with a full blight infection period and two half infection periods recorded and incidences of blight occuring on potato dumps reported blight spray programmes should be fully underway on any emerged crops.
