Russia's Constitutional Court ruled on 7 June that the constitution of Altai Republic violates the federal constitution. The court cited three articles, one declaring the republic's sovereignty separate from that of the federation, another which declared all land and natural resources of the republic to be the property of the republic, and another banning the storage of radioactive waste on its soil.
