The Timberwolves, still groggy from the Kevin Garnett contract talks, will be in the same position next summer when they try to negotiate a lucrative contract extension with point guard Stephon Marbury.

But Marbury said Wednesday that things will be different.

"I don't think my process is going to be like that. I'm not going to let it get like that," said Marbury, last year's runner-up as NBA Rookie of the Year and another valuable piece to the Wolves' puzzle.
