Like many other wireless telephone companies, Alltel Communications is expanding the bounds of its cellular coverage area and offering customers a nationwide calling plan that eliminates long-distance and roaming charges.

On Monday, the company will begin selling a cellular phone package called "Total Freedom" that allows users to make calls anywhere in the United States without additional charges. It was designed for people who use their mobile phones when they travel.
