What, you may ask, is so amazing about American antelope?

Well, first of all, the American pronghorn antelope isn't an antelope at all! A long time ago, people started calling the pronghorn an "antelope," and the name stuck. He actually is the sole surviving member of a family that dates back nearly 20 million years. Its family name is "antilocapridae," which comes from the Latin words: "antilope," for antelope, and "capra," which means goat. That makes it the American antelope-goat.
