NEW Dr Who Paul McGann will earn pounds 1.25 million for the blockbuster TV series, it was revealed yesterday.
He has signed a five year contract to play the 700-year-old time traveller into the next century.
But the 36-year-old heart-throb turned down the chance to be TV's eighth Doctor when first approached last year.
"I had to be more or less dragged into doing it," he said on location in Vancouver, Canada.
