Shamed Tory MP Sir Nicholas Scott was found slumped face down in the street - because of a back injury caused by a "slippery new bath", claimed his wife yesterday.

Lady Cecilia Scott scoffed at reports that her husband had fallen over because he was drunk. She said: "He'd only had ONE glass of wine."

Sir Nicholas, on the other hand, seemed to be suffering from double vision as he recalled the party conference scandal. He said: "I only had TWO glasses of wine."
