Korea Opens First High-Speed Test Section.(Brief Article)

THE first 34.4km section of Korea's Seoul--Pusan high-speed line was officially inaugurated on December 16 1999 in the presence of President Dae Jung Kim of Korea. The section, which will be extended to 57.2km linking Chonan with Taejon in April 2001, is now being used to start testing the fleet of 46 Korean TGVs, as they are delivered. These trains will now be known as KTX or Korea Express.
