Euro-chief Jacques Santer yesterday snubbed Scotland's best beef.

After turning up his nose at a succulent T-bone steak served up by the Record, he said the world-wide ban on our beef will stay.

Stubborn Santer, in Scotland for the day, refused to back down despite overwhelming evidence that our beef herds are BSE-free.

Santer flew into a storm on his first visit to Scotland since the EU decided Ulster's cattle could go back on the world market.
