A VILLAGE store thought to have inspired Ronnie Barker's hit TV show Open All Hours is to close after 70 years.

The comedian used to live just six miles away from the shop which is to shut tomorrow.

Owner Brian Meecham claimed he often served someone matching Ronnie's description.
