A BIRMINGHAM MP was today urging the House of Commons to make growing hedges too high a criminal offence.

Selly Oak MP Lynne Jones wants to stop a repeat of a 20 year row over a massive Leylandii hedge in Birmingham.

And her plea was being backed by more than 50 MPs today.

She is calling for measures to curb the menace of overgrown hedges to be included in the Government's Crime and Disorder bill under a section dealing with anti-social neighbours. ...
