WHEN everything else in the garden is starting to look limp and lacklustre, there's one flower that can be relied upon to put on a colourful autumn display - Michaelmas daisies.
Michaelmas daisies - or asters - arrive in an explosion of violets and lilacs in late summer and many varieties will go on flowering until the first frosts. They are easy to grow and many make lovely cut flowers.
