Agie Charmilles Group to acquire Boston Digital.

The Agie Charmilles Group of Swiss-based Georg Fischer Corp has agreed to acquire Boston Digital Corp, Milford, MA, a producer of high performance milling machines. Boston Digital, whose BostoMatic machines are used in the manufacture of electrodes for electrical discharge machines (EDMs), will be integrated into the Agie Charmilles Group as a third EDM brand alongside the Agie and Charmilles Technologies EDM brands. High performance milling machines, such as those manufactured by Boston Digital, complement EDMs in today's manufacturing strategies.
