Sea Wave to miss St Leger; Classic market turned upside down after favourite is re-routed to France.(Sports)

GODOLPHIN last night threw the betting market for Saturday's Pertemps St Leger Stakes into turmoil by announcing that ante-post favourite Sea Wave is to run instead in France the following day.

The decision to forgo what appeared to be a golden opportunity to land the St Leger is likely to be interpreted as a vicious body blow to the prestige of the Doncaster Classic.

And it was compounded by the fact that Godolphin's Italian Derby hero Central Park will join Sea Wave in the Group 2 Prix Niel, partnered by Daragh O'Donohoe.
