THE NAME of Caerleon used to be commonly bracketed with that of Sadler's Wells in the list of Coolmore's assets, the inference being that one was just as good as the other. In fact, Caerleon (who died in February, a fortnight before the 1998 breeding season) ranked as clear second-best on the Co Tipperary farm's roster without ever being quite in the same league as Sadler's Wells.
