A STALKER hounding Crimewatch star Jill Dando has confessed to a terrifying, four-year obsession.

Love-sick loner John Hole admitted last night to plaguing presenter Jill, 36, with Valentine's cards, love letters and phone calls.

And he told how he had waited for Jill outside BBC studios - and even lurked outside her West London home.

Unmarried Hole, 61, said: "I've never been engaged and I've not had any steady girlfriends, although not for want of trying.

"I've always been refused which is why I'm in the position I am now.
