John Walker was born a paraplegic. But that never stopped him. Because he was taught not to let it stop him.

When as a young lad he fell to the ground trying to play football with the other children, his friends in Burntwood would always be ready to help him back on his feet. Except his father would not let them.

From his home he would yell to the friendly assistants not to pick him up. He wanted John to do it on his own.

That very same father would spend every penny he owned taking John to doctors, hospitals, and clinics. And he would gently massage his son's legs ...
