PERVERT priest Fr Ivan Payne had his jail term for a litany of child sexual assaults trebled yesterday.

The paedophile was ordered to stay behind bars for six years after the state successfully appealed his two year sentence.

Last night, one of his victims welcomed the stiffer jail term.

Andrew Madden, who lifted the lid on Payne's reign of terror, said: "I think this is a more suitable sentence given what happened to me and others."
