IN his prime as a Holly-wood playboy, Warren Beatty said: "I could've been a politician. Or I could bed a lot of women. I decided to bed a lot of women."

Maybe that famous sexual drive is waning, because at 62 Beatty has declared he would like to run for President of the United States in next year's elections.

He's already portrayed a senator called Bulworth - a man truly a rarity in politics in that he always told the truth - in the movie of the same name.

Now the star of Shampoo, Reds and Dick Tracy may move from Hollywood to Washington.
