UP to 80 people were feared dead last night in the inferno of the 6.03 rail disaster.
As darkness covered the burned-out remains of the two trains and the search for more dead was halted until this morning, police said: "There is no one left alive in the wreckage."
But Transport Police said an entire carriage destroyed by the intense heat had yet to be fully searched for bodies.
It could have held as many as 60 people. Last night, it was too dangerous to enter. The wreckage was being made safe overnight so the search could continue this morning.
