Public Citizen plans to submit a petition to FDA asking the agency to reevaluate the use of irradiation on foods. According to Public Citizen "the legalization of irradiation of our food supply is incredibly irresponsible given the clearly inadequate testing of the effects on consumers' health and nutrition."
