The stunning arrogance of Ian Oliver proved too much to stomach for one of his bosses yesterday.
Former Grampian Police sergeant Duncan Crawford resigned in disgust after chief constable Oliver DEFIED a unanimous vote of no confidence and DEMANDED pounds 18,750 extra to quit.
Oliver will now be ousted within 10 days under a law that has never had to be used before.
After walking out of Grampian Police Board's showdown meeting with Oliver, Crawford said: "He has treated the board and the people of north-east Scotland with absolute contempt.
