Prehistoric snapshots in the album of time, the mysterious cave paintings of Baja California match any of those found in Europe. Some of them are believed to be between 2,000 and 10,000 years old.

No one knows for sure who painted them or why. Before the completion of the Transpeninsular Highway (Mexico 1) in 1973, the paintings were little more than rarely visited curiosities.
