FORT MYERS - Steve Lomasney, baseball player, dreams of one day being the Red Sox' everyday catcher. He dreams of trotting out to the chalk on Opening Day, dreams of being a Carlton Fisk of the 21st century, dreams of being a fan favorite.

And then there is Steve Lomasney ... Boston sports fan.

"I know how pissed off I was when the Patriots were 6-2, and all of a sudden they're out of the playoffs," Lomasney said the other day at the Red Sox' spring training base. "I was really pissed. How could that happen?"
