   Because there was a time before TV 
   when children had hands that jumped like frogs, 
   because in those days there was summer 
   when children were not dropped off 
   and picked up in Toyotas, 
   but flung themselves in and out 
   to the slam of screen doors,

   but to lie down in the green hair
