The municipal elections held in early February in the Kurdistan Regional Government took place without the participation of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, the KRG's largest party, an arrangement that the "Kurdistan Observer's" Lise Storm Grundon said had reduced them to the level of "farce." She said that other factors had corrupted the process as well.
