Feb. 24--Waste Management on Wednesday named a new chief financial officer who has held the same position at four other large companies.

William L. Trubeck succeeds Donald Chappel, who decided to leave the company after serving as interim chief financial officer since August. Trubeck will take Chappel's position on March 6.

As chief financial officer and senior vice president, Trubeck will report directly to A. Maurice Myers, chairman, president and chief executive of the Houston-based company.
