Sir Vivian Fuchs, known as `Bunny' to his friends, will be remembered as a colourful and much loved RGS president. A screech on the forecourt gravel would signal his arrival from Cambridge in one of his E-type Jaguars. His bright eyes and bushy eyebrows, his quiet presence and stories of his field experiences will be long remembered. He took a keen interest in the Society's fieldwork activities with young, people, and helped to develop the Young Explorers' Trust and the Expedition Advisory Centre.
