Dr. Robert Clifton Weaver, the first Black Cabinet member who served as secretary of the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), will be remembered in the nation's capital with a huge government building bearing his name.

The bill was passed by the House of Representatives by unanimous consent on November 18, the last day of legislative business before adjournment of the first session of the 106th Congress.
