They say love is better the second time around. But is the same thing true for a new opera? Thursday at the Kennedy Center, the Washington Opera decided to find out by mounting a retooled version of American composer Conrad Susa's "The Dangerous Liaisons," which premiered in San Francisco in 1994. As for the East Coast premiere, well . . . we'll get to that.
