Sexual addiction is a controversial notion. It has been criticized from the libertarian, liberal viewpoint as a moral judgment by people who do not like another group of people's behavior dressed up as a scientifically validated concept. And it has been criticized from a conservative viewpoint as an excuse -- "it's a disease" -- for immoral behavior.
