Being a stereotypical male with a pronounced shopping phobia, I was doing something rather unusual last weekend. I was browsing through a catalog for fine silverware. What astonished me was the price of the dining sets. The minimum price for a sterling silver flatware set was $3,249.95.

Being also a stereotypical insurance person, my immediate thought was whether such a set would be covered under a homeowners policy. Looking up my ever-present HO-3 policy, I found under Item 7, Coverage C (Personal Property) that there is a limit of $2,500 for theft loss of silverware.
