Wachovia Corp. in Winston-Salem, N.C. has promoted James F. McCreary to the rank of group executive in its Wachovia Corporate Services Inc.

Mr. McCreary, a senior vice president, retains the duties he assumed in January

as one of three group managers in the unit's U.S. corporate finance division. He

is based in Atlanta.
