Nouveau riches; Alphonse Mucha exhibition highlights lush spirit and style.

Alphonse Mucha was one of its brightest stars of the Art Nouveau craze of the early 20th century. His images of beautiful women with flowing locks brought him fame and wealth, and the pictures were sought after by commercial manufacturers and art patrons alike, both here and abroad. The images' sex appeal - albeit cloaked in Victorian decorum - was unmistakable, their allure infectious. And, nearly 100 years later, the Worcester Art Museum has managed to re-capture this glory in the only Northeast venue of the exhibition "Alphonse Mucha: The Spirit of Art Nouveau."
