PALO ALTO, Calif. - Some of the newly rich millionaires of Silicon Valley are at last starting to give to charity after years of building a reputation as the stingiest of U.S. tycoons.
The biggest donation so far came from Netscape Communications founder James H. Clark, who gave $150 million of his cyber-generated cash to Stanford University to build a center for biomedical engineering.
