Faience fragments with Egyptian hieroglyphs found at Mycenae between 1886 and 1969 are currently seen as Egyptian-made royal gifts from the time of Amenhotep III (1391-1353 B.C.). However, comparisons of objects from Egypt do not offer precise parallels, and limited scientific analyses of the Mycenae fragments support non-Egyptian manufacture.
