ERT Does Not Increase Breast Cancer Recurrence or Mortality.

WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.VA. -- Women with a history of breast cancer who were on estrogen replacement therapy had a lower incidence of cancer recurrence and a lower mortality rate, compared with those who were not on ERT in a study of 76 patients.
"Physicians should not automatically discourage [breast cancer survivors] from taking ERT," study investigator Dr. Puthugraman Natrajan reported at the annual meeting of the South Atlantic Association of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
The survival rate was 94% for patients who were taking ERT, 87% for none-strogen hormone ...
