Thousands of Harvard Pilgrim members may be forced to find new doctors by the end of the year, according to physicians who say they are being forced out of the HMO's network.

Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Inc. has told a group of 5,000 general practitioners and specialists that some 900 could be cut from the network unless they form or join new and locally oriented negotiating groups.
