ASMARA, Eritrea - Despite spending 14 years in Los Angeles, Beraki Tesfi has few regrets about his decision to return to Eritrea, the land of his birth.

After three years of hard work, he is running a busy restaurant in the capital, Asmara, and has a number of other projects in the pipeline. His wife, whom he met in the United States, is a lecturer at the university. They have one child and the future looks bright.
