It has all the trappings of a grand civic event. There will be a public ceremony, an earnest mayor and a bronze sculpture designed by the same artist who created Mount Rushmore.
On Saturday, Boston Mayor Thomas Menino will make it official. In a public ceremony, the mayor will accept the design for a bronze memorial for Nicola Sacco and Bartolomeo Vanzetti, two Italians executed for a double murder many believe they didn't commit.
