"Baby Girl," born more than three months premature to a comatose rape victim, is brain dead despite extraordinary efforts to overcome the medical odds, a source told the Herald yesterday.

"The baby is brain dead," said one source familiar with the baby's struggle to live. "There's not much hope."

State social services officials, who have custody of the baby, now have the controversial decision whether to end life support.
