Colt's Manufacturing Co. - inventor of the six-shooter, "the gun that won the West" - is getting out of the everyday handgun business.
Colt, which is facing 28 lawsuits from cities and counties hoping to punish it and other gun makers the same way they have the tobacco industry, will stop taking orders for most of its retail handguns.
The news could send collectors flocking to area gun stores.
